Friends from across Canadian Shield Region are invited to join a special online worship service celebrating the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This year, our theme centers on the profound message, “You shall love the Lord your God …and your neighbour as yourself…”
Crafted with heartfelt contributions from Christians in Burkina Faso and finalized by the international collaboration between the Roman Catholic Church’s Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the World Council of Churches’ Faith and Order Commission, this service promises to be a unique spiritual journey.
This worship is co-presided by The Most Rev. Anne Germond, Anglican Bishop of Algoma and Moosonee and The Most Rev. Thomas Dowd, Roman Catholic Bishop of Sault Ste. Marie, with leadership offered by Rev. Melody Duncanson-Hales of Canadian Shield Region, United Church of Canada.
“We have been invited to live the divine call to love God and our neighbour as ourselves. As we renew our commitment to this call, may this love strengthen our unity as Christians.”
Together, let us embrace this opportunity to deepen our faith and strengthen our bonds of unity. All are welcome.
