The Church Women’s Group runs a Thrift Shop in buildings connected to the back of the Church of St Paul. This is an amazing outreach and stewardship endeavour that also is a major fundraiser both for the Parish and for the many charitable organizations supported by the Church Women’s Group and the Parish.
Gently-used second hand clothing is available for reasonable prices. For those that love to read, there is always a good selection of books. A second room sells Flea Market type goods — items that will make your home or camper functional, fun, and fanciful: dishes, cooking and baking utensils, containers, decorations, and vases are some examples.
If you’re looking for reasonably priced items, come and check out the Thrift Shop.
Run by volunteers, it is open on Thursdays from 9 am – 2 pm.
The goods that are sold come from donations from members of the community.
Revenues support the work of the Church of St Paul and Trinity Shared Ministry as well as providing donations to many charitable organizations including
- The United Church of Canada’s Mission and Service Fund
- Primate’s World Development and Relief Fund
- Canadian Lutheran World Relief
- First United Church Community Ministry Society, which serves the people of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside
- Surrey Urban Mission Society, which provides meal programmes, shelter, and community connections in the Whalley area
- Sleeping Children
- Barriere Food Bank
- Barriere Hospice
- YCS Safe House
