A Whimsical Journey
from Advent to Epiphany
For those on Facebook, you will find the daily Wandering Wisemen posts from Advent to Epiphany quite delightful.

The Wandering Wisemen will return on Sunday, December 3rd.
This will be their 10th Advent journey – and their last. Each day, I will share one of my favorite Wiseman ‘scenes’ from the past decade as we close out their story.
As we prepare to set forth, I hope you will permit me a more personal introduction than I’ve given in previous years. Many things remain the same. The Wisemen’s journey will begin on the first Sunday of Advent and conclude, as it always does (and always must!) with joy and thanksgiving on January 6th. The journey will be filled with danger, humor, and hope. We will make it through together.
So much else has changed over the years since I started posting pictures of my children’s Playmobil characters for my friends’ enjoyment. I got divorced. I learned to thrive as a single mom. I moved – a couple times. I bought a house. And a dog. I fell in love. My job changed and grew. My children changed and grew.
Together, we weathered the terrible, fearful onslaught of COVID-19, which brought unimaginable loss – and unexpected beauty. I used the pandemic as an opportunity to take my life in a different direction. Two years ago, I opened a small business (a bookstore!) that challenges and inspires me daily.
What started with a photograph and a silly caption grew to an international community of wanderers. You have kindly shared your reactions, comments, and witty remarks – and I have loved reading them all. I treasure your generous words about what the Wisemen have meant to your own Advent journeys, and I am grateful to have had this creative outlet.
And now, let us prepare for one last adventure together! See you on December 3rd.
