Territory of the People Delegates
Gather Saturday, September 16th
A momentous decision will be made by Electoral Assembly delegates that will gather at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kamloops on Saturday, September 16th. The Electoral Committee and the Coordinating Council of the Territory of the People and the BC House of Bishops have done their respective preliminary work. One candidate for the office of Bishop will be presented.
On August 9th, Melissa Green, Chair of the Electoral Committee, wrote “Assembly Delegates will gather in September at the Episcopal Election to discern whether this Candidate is called to be the next Bishop of the Territory of the People or if the Territory is being called to begin a new Electoral Process. The ballot will reflect these two options.” The full letter to the delegates will be found on this page of the Territory’s website.
The Territory Profile and Election Process Information page on the Territory’s website contains a vast amount of information. Included is the information for the candidate, The Ven. Clara Plamondon. Links to the Information Form and Responses, references letters, video responses, a photo, and the Signed Consent and Affirmation Form will be found there.
Prayers for the delegates, organizers, and the candidate as this discernment work takes place will be appreciated. The parish delegates from the North Thompson Ecumenical Shared Ministry are Leslie Ross, Keith Peterson, and the Rev. Bruce Chalmers.
