World Food Day
A Message from Anglican and Lutheran Leaders
for World Food Day on Sunday, October 16th
National Bishop Susan Johnson of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada along with Archbishop and Primate Linda Nicholls of the Anglican Church of Canada have written to the church in advance of World Food Day on October 16th. Members are invited to pray, learn, and advocate for food security everywhere.
World Food Day was founded by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945, and has been observed annually, every October 16, since 1981. The event was established to increase awareness of world hunger and poverty and to inspire solutions for world change. This year’s theme is “Leave No One Behind”.
