Emancipation Day Panel Discussion
Presented by the Black Clergy Network
of the United Church of Canada
There will be a special Emancipation Day panel discussion presented by the Black Clergy Network of The United Church of Canada. “Challenging Colonial Legacies through the Commemoration of Emancipation” will take place Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific) on the Black Clergy United Church YouTube channel.
Panelists include:
• Dr. Dian McCallum (Lecturer, University of the West Indies)
• Dr. Rinaldo Walcott (Associate professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and the director of the Women and Gender Studies Institute at the University of Toronto)
• Rev. Dr. Japhet Ndhlovu (Executive Minister, Church in Mission, The United Church of Canada)
• Rev. Dr. Steed Davidson (Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, Professor of Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, McCormick University)
The panel will be moderated by Rev. Sadekie Lyttle-Forbes.
